Camp Josepho 2002

Rifle Shooting and Special Cooking

December 7-8, 2002

Troop 125's December outing is camping in the nearby Santa Monica Mountains. Camp Josepho is a BSA camp operated by the Western Los Angeles County Council. It is located above the Pacific Palisades in a beautiful and remote rustic canyon surrounded by natural public parkland.

Scouts will have the opportunity to work on various skills and merit badges as well as having fun on the trail. All Scouts will have the opportunity to use the camp archery and rifle range during the day, and all will participate in a Troop Feast on Saturday night. Food will be good and plentiful at the feast!

We will meet at Glenoaks Park at 8:00 AM on Saturday, December 7, and return at approximately 3:00 PM on Sunday. Troop activity shirts should be worn to and from Camp Josepho. Please bring a sack lunch for Saturday.

During the day, we can expect very comfortable weather. At night, we can expect mild temperatures; but since the Pacific Ocean is nearby, we should be ready for fog and mist in the evening and early morning. One year, it rained Saturday night, so be prepared.

The cost of this trip is $24, which covers food, camping fees, and ammunition. Please remember to pay the fee and turn in the permission slip and rifle consent form at the November 20 Troop meeting.

Please call if you have questions.
